June 4, 2018 - Niels van der Boom

Deere & Co, better known as John Deere, is suing fellow manufacturer AGCO Corp. for an infringement of 12 patents. This happened after the full liner sowing specialist took over Precision Planting. John Deere previously got this deal through the nose.

John Deere announced June 1 that it had filed a lawsuit against Agco, the parent company of Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Valtra, among others. The agricultural full liner took over the US in September 2017 Precision Planting left over from Monsanto. The company was previously in talks with John Deere. Pimp seeder
Precision Planting focuses on updating seeders, in order to achieve a better result. Think of a different monitor, accurate electric motors and delivery system. This way you can 'pimp' an existing machine and make it up-to-date.

Deere & Co is impressed by the products Precision Planting offers. According to a spokesperson, the company is directly and indirectly affected by this. "As long as our patents are infringed, we will continue to be harmed," the allegation said. Agco declined to comment on the news.

battle of rights
It is not the first time that John Deere has been in court. The world's largest machine manufacturer has the strategy to defend its brand with fervor. In October 2017, a judge ruled that Deere's green-yellow may no longer be used by other manufacturers. A field sprayer manufacturer therefore had to color it revisions.
