The above data means that the number of pigs has increased by 7 in the past 154.488 years. That equates to a percentage increase of 1,3%.

The province of North Brabant is in first place. In this province the number of pigs in 2010 amounted to 5.515.227 pigs. That number has increased in 7 years to 6.007.632 pigs in 2017. That means an increase of 492.405 pigs, which is an increase of 8,9%.

The province of Limburg is in second place. In this province the number of pigs in 2010 amounted to 1.794.385 pigs. That number increased to 2017 units in 1.905.109. That is a plus of 110.724 pigs, which is a percentage increase of 6,2%. Third place is for the province of North Holland. This province had 2010 pigs in 22.493. That number has increased by 7 pigs in 1.032 years to 23.525 pigs. This is an increase of 4,6%.

The fourth place is for the province of Friesland. In 2010, this province still had 101.299 pigs. That number increased to 2017 pigs in 102.314, an increase of 1.015 pigs. Numbers don't say everything.
Think that the average delivery weight is about 3 to 4 kg higher compared to 2010.
So clearly more meat is being produced

Dear Leo,

You got that absolutely right. A top 5 with the slaughter weights of recent years (per month) will follow shortly. It is also clearly visible that the pigs have become heavier in recent years, and that more meat is indeed being produced.

I wonder and wonder how many pig rights there are, more pigs are coming, but rights are not added, how do they do that. Maybe the dairy farmers can learn something from it.
