Organic on the rise

AgruniekRijnvallei satisfied with 2016 result

13 March 2017 - Wouter Baan

A good result with a solid turnover, that is how AgruniekRijnvallei describes the financial annual figures for 2016. Feed, plants, storage and transhipment and shops contributed to a gross profit of 1,3 million euros from a turnover of 230 million euros.

Cheaper raw materials reduce turnover

The turnover of animal feed in tonnes was at a constant level in 2016. This is in line with the figures for 2015. However, shifts can be observed. For example, the feed supplier sees a strong increase in cattle, while the organic segment can also refute growth figures. Simple raw materials are also popular among livestock farmers, says AgruniekRijnvallei. The reason that turnover is lower than in 2015 is, according to the cooperative, due to cheaper raw materials.

According to AgruniekRijnvallei, both liquidity and solvency, which amount to almost 67 percent, are satisfactory. In its own words, the cooperative is trying to follow up last year's good results in 2017 with a basis of knowledge, expertise, quality and competitive cost.

This week, week 11, the annual figures of ForFarmers and Agrifirm will also follow.
