GMM votes in favour

Jansen and Douma return as POV drivers

20 March 2017 - Wouter Baan - 1 reaction

Can Ingrid Jansen and Eric Douma return as directors of the Producers Organization Pig Farming (POV)? That was the crucial question at the members' meeting of the pig farmers on Monday evening 20 March. They voted in favour.

With the motto: 'the farmer at the helm', it was up to the members of the POV to determine whether they still put their trust in Jansen and Douma. It involved a re-appointment as chairman and vice-chairman.

More than 120 percent of the more than 90 members present again put their trust in the resigned directors. With this they will rejoin as chairman and vice-chairman respectively. The other board members Johan van Hal, Frank Donkers and Mark Tijssen withdrew. The two of Jansen and Douma now form the board.

The appointment is for 6 weeks. The next GMM is on May 1. Then a transitional board is elected.

On Thursday 9 March, chairman Jansen and vice-chairman Douma threw in the towel after a breach of trust within the board.
