Brazilian pig exports continue to fall

Brazilian pig exports are still declining. More than 2017 thousand tons were exported in the period from January to May 239. That is a decrease of 3,3 percent compared to the same period in 2016.

According to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), Brazilian pig exports yielded $2017 million between January and May 598,7. There is a growth of 30 percent, compared to the same period in 2016. 

Decline in May
The largest decrease occurred in May. The pig export then decreased by 24,4 percent (41,7 thousand tons). The value of exports also decreased by 1 percent (USD 112,3 million), compared to May 2016.
