Decided House of Representatives

Farmers with a professional ban are blacklisted

14 September 2017 - Kimberly Bakker - 4 comments

The House of Representatives wants farmers with a professional ban in 1 of the European member states to be blacklisted. Pigs in Need will announce this on Thursday 14 September.

Frank Futselaar (SP) and Femke Merel Arissen (PvdD) submitted a motion for this. They want livestock farmers to be able to stop working in the Netherlands with a foreign professional ban.

Futselaar and Arissen's motion was passed with a large majority. The SP, GroenLinks, D66, the Party for the Animals, the PvdA, the PVV, 50PLUS and DENK voted in favor of the motion.

Petition was the cause
The Pigs in Need petition, with which the organization last month started, fueled the motion. The organization started a petition for a professional ban against pig farmer Straathof, in whose stables several abuses were found.

It is time for a professional ban for lying, manipulating or ... (fill in the blank) ... MPs.

people who take financial risks themselves must be able to be tackled everywhere, administrators and officials who run no risk anywhere should be rewarded nothing, the country will be able to get further with this????????????????

Now that motion still has to be carried out by a cabinet!
Curious if anyone wants to burn their hands on that?
I am thinking of all the legal consequences here. Privacy Act and EU-wide control and enforcement, to name just two.
Professional prohibition on a liberal profession? Or will it be a ban on keeping animals and where is the limit? Do pets in general count? (oops now any resident in the EU could potentially end up on this list, right?)
Will this list be made public? Then we are back in the Middle Ages with its pillory and the Vatican Inquisition a few centuries later.

A return jihadist enjoys almost even more protection than an animal farmer.
The hate Imam can now freely provide new growth.

I make this comparison because adopting this motion implies that, as farmers, we pose an almost greater threat to society than a terrorist suspect.

comments seem to argue that a professional ban for entrepreneurs is inappropriate and that a judgment is not appropriate for society. Oh no? Do entrepreneurs place themselves outside society?

Anyone looking at Straathof's corridors and practices will have to admit, objectively speaking, that he constitutes a shameless insult to the sector.
And shameless he is. With the law in hand, but also outside the law and an unbelievable amount of brutality, he continues his plans.
What is wrong with people who look up to such a subject; the bully.

Jan you write the corridors and practices of Mr Straathof . What exactly is that that could not go through with him according to the law, I still do not have that in the picture with hard facts, and as long as that is not known, I find it difficult to accuse someone so heavily. Really call the facts by the name and don't act like a match for animals, if they see a barrel with dead piglets on the road they will put it in the picture and tell a story that makes no sense.
