The declining trend in the pig market continues. There are still many heavy pigs hovering above the market, which are very much in demand. So far, the pig market in 2017 seems to be a copy of 2014. A striking observation.
The German pork price fell harder than predicted on Wednesday, September 27. The 'Vereinigungspreis' was reduced by €0,05 to €1,53 per kilo. Now the question is whether the price can hold above €1,50 or even fall further. It illustrates the situation that is going on: the lower limit is being pushed forward from week to week.
The Internet Exchange also suffered on Friday September 29 and fell by €0,02 to €1,54 per kilo. Meanwhile, the German indicator is considerably lower than last year. At that time, €1,66 per kilo was still on the signs.
Rich offer
German slaughterhouses slaughtered 1.027.437 pigs last week. It was the second highest number this year and the fourth week in a row with increasing slaughter figures. Pigs are still offered from all corners of the Netherlands. Since Germany does not slaughter on Tuesday, October 3, due to a national holiday, there is a traffic jam. Dutch slaughterhouses also talk about a lot of pigs, with one slaughterhouse indicating that the weights are increasing slightly and at another the weights are said to be decreasing.
So far, the pig market in 2017 seems to be a copy of 2014. Even then, the German pig price was in a negative spiral in the autumn. If the comparison also applies in the coming weeks, the end is not yet in sight. Then the German pork price finally dropped to €1,40 per kilo.

Piglet market will also follow in 2014
The piglet market also seems to be choosing the route of 3 years ago. Then the German WeserEms quotation eventually dropped to a paltry €33 per piglet. Moreover, it is not to be hoped that the '2014 scenario' will again determine the market image, because the crisis year that followed is still fresh in everyone's memory.

DCA Stock Price 2.0 lower again
For the time being, the pig market continues to follow the year 2014. Due to the sluggish sales, the DCA Exchange Price 2.0 for slaughtered pigs drops again and drops by €0,04 to €1,43 per kilo. The price of live pigs drops from €0,03 to €1,13 per kilo.
The meat market also took a big hit this week. The hams, shoulders and foreparts decreased, varyingly, from €0,04 to €0,07 per kilo.
