Additional sales offices

Danish Crown zooms in on Southeast Asia

12 October 2017 - Wouter Baan

Danish Crown will profile itself even more strongly in Southeast Asia. The Danish slaughterhouse has announced that it will open sales offices in Vietnam, Taiwan and the Philippines.

The demand for pork in this region is growing rapidly. That is why, according to Morten Holm, CEO of subsidiary ESS-Food, it is time for additional sales offices. Demand has increased rapidly, especially in the last decade.

Prosperity drives meat consumption

Promising region
The Philippines is now the fifth largest importer of European pork. In 2016 alone, demand there increased by 15%, compared to the previous year. Increasing prosperity leads to extra meat consumption. Logistics has also improved noticeably. Previously, Ess-Food and Danish Crown worked separately in Southeast Asia. In the future, all activities will be bundled.

Additional sales offices seems to be Danish Crown's strategy to realize additional sales. Recently, the slaughterhouse also announced extra in Germany and the Benelux sales offices to open.
