Strategic cooperation

ForFarmers and Baks take over each other's activities

28 November 2017 - Wouter Baan

From 2018, ForFarmers and Baks Agri Foods will enter into a strategic partnership with regard to moisture-rich feed materials. Where Baks will take care of the logistics, ForFarmers will take care of the sales activities.

In practice, this means that Baks will take over the entire fleet of FF Logistics (a subsidiary of ForFarmers). It concerns 6 tankers, including drivers. ForFarmers in turn takes over Baks's customer base of high-moisture feeds. This is a flow of approximately 160.000 tons, which mainly consists of whey products.

Win win situation
Jan Potijk, director of ForFarmers Netherlands, sees the collaboration as a win-win situation, in which both companies can focus on their core activities. The aim of the collaboration is to organize the chain more efficiently. The partnership will start on 1 February and will initially be valid for a period of 3 years. The intention is to extend this indefinitely.
