animal health
The survey shows that the majority of Flemish pig farmers consider health, hygiene and welfare to be the most important research theme. In that theme they would like to see research into medication use and alternatives, vaccination schedules and germs.
According to the pig farmers, more attention should also be paid to research into nutrition in the coming years. Research into feed conversion, drinking water quality and drinking water requirements are particularly high on the agenda.
The top 3 is concluded by the themes of business management and economics. The Flemish pig farmers indicate that they would like to see economic key figures, cost prices and technical key figures on the research agenda.
