Argentina pig production sets record

Argentina's pig production exceeded 2017 million slaughtered pigs for the first time in 6. That leads to record production, but where does that end up?

The number of pig slaughters has also increased in the past 5 years from 3,8 million to 6,4 million, which is an increase of 68%. The production, weighted in tons of carcass (with bones), increased by 70%.
Pork consumption
Pork consumption in Argentina has also risen sharply between 2012 and 2017: from 8,5 kilos per person per year to 14 kilos per person per year, an increase of 64%. Compared to 2016, pork consumption increased by 9%.
The Argentine producer also benefited from these higher figures. Since the price paid to the producer has increased by 22,6%, compared to 2016.
