CEO Francis Kint leaves Vion

27 March 2018 - Wouter Baan - 3 comments

Francis Kint (CEO of Vion) will exchange Vion on 1 June to take up the same position at the Belgian meat company Ter Beke. Kint, who is also of Belgian descent, has been employed by the largest meat concern in the Netherlands since 2015. It is not yet known who will succeed Kint.

Kint says he is proud that he has been able to lead Vion for 3 years. He also stated that in recent years Vion has shown leadership on various themes, such as transparency† With an investment program of €260 million, Vion has worked hard in recent years to improve its position. This resulted in new commercial entrances, leaving the CEO in good health.

Under Kint's reign, Vion bounced back after a few difficult years. Thus wrote Vion in 2015 green figures again, after millions in losses were incurred in the previous years. Vion also made a profit in 2016 and a lot has recently changed on the purchasing side of the slaughterhouse with the introduction of Good Farming Balance

Crucial role
Sipko Schat, chairman of the supervisory board at Vion, regrets the departure of the CEO and says he will miss him. Schat says that Kint has played a crucial role in transforming the company and putting sustainability on the map.
