In Denmark, the pig herd has increased significantly in 1 year. For example, the most recent count (April) shows that on balance there were 12,7 million pigs, a plus of 4%.

Especially the number of fattening pigs from 50 kilos grew rapidly. This group increased by no less than 8% to 2,97 million units. The Danish slaughterhouses clearly see this growth in the range. "The sow herd has also increased by 3% in one year with 1,27 million sows."

3% = 1.27 million. Makes a total of 423 million sows in Denmark.
† typo?

I think it must be an increase of 38.100 sows.
But this multiplied by 33 piglets/sow/year is again more than 1.250.000 piglets.
