Livestock group ForFarmers has taken over the compound feed activities of Maatman livestock feeds. This is the third company that the listed group has acquired in 2018. Maatman is mainly active in the poultry and cattle sector.
Maatman cattle feeds is a trading house that also provides advice on the farm. The compound feed is produced by third parties, including more than half (60%) by ForFarmers. Last year, Maatman sold 114.000 tons of feed and fertilizers to livestock farmers, both in the Netherlands and Germany.
Purchase price of €7 million
Maatman does the logistics itself. The transport activities, including 15 bulk trucks, are part of the deal. The acquisition involves an amount of €7 million. The competition authorities in Germany still have to give their approval, which means that the final completion is still a few months away.
With the acquisition of Maatman, ForFarmers is entering the acquisition path for the third time this year. ForFarmers previously made acquisitions in Poland en Belgium† Recently spoke COO Jan Potijk is still saying aloud that ForFarmers that acquisitions fit in with ForFarmers' growth strategy.
