The ISN (the representative of German pig farmers) says that most pig prices in week 28 will remain at the level they reached at the beginning of June. The stable price is accompanied by a tight supply of live pigs. In combination with a calm demand from the slaughterhouses, this results in an extremely stable market.

In the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, France and Belgium the pig price remains unchanged. From the Dutch corner let Vion know that the supply and the weights do attract something, but the sales market is described as difficult.

Higher prices
In Germany, the price managed to make a small plus to €1,389 per kilo. It is an increase that dwarfs the pluses writing down Spain and Italy. For example, Italy increased the pig price by €0,020 per kilo to €1,823. Spain added €0,010 to the price, bringing it to €1,642 per kilo.

The division in the playing field is due to the high temperatures in the south of Europe. They inhibit the growth of the pigs and thus also limit the supply. However, the demand is increasing now that the holidays have started. This is because the tourists in this area increase the demand for meat.
