Feed manufacturer De Heus has signed an agreement for the acquisition of the Serbian compound feed factory Komponenta. The takeover brings the number of De Heus production locations in Serbia to 2.
The indicates that the demand for cattle, poultry and pig feed from Serbia is increasing sharply. With the purchase of the factory, the feed manufacturer hopes to be able to respond quickly to the growing demand.
Factory refurbishment
The factory must be completely redesigned in order to meet the high quality standard of De Heus. De Heus chooses to renew the production line and equip it with the most advanced production techniques. The refurbishment is expected to be completed at the end of 2018, after which the factory can be taken into use.
"In order to meet the increasing demand, we will also further expand the capacity of our other factory in Serbia. The 2 factories should eventually have a combined production capacity of 260.000 tons," says Darko Sadzak, general manager of De Heus Serbia. "In addition, the new factory is very conveniently located, which means that we can also easily reach livestock farmers in southern Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania."
