The tight supply of pigs fails to move prices further. It looks like the pig market will close the month of August with a stable price.
For the second week in a row, the German pork price (the VEGZ quotation) does not move. This further reduces the chance of an increase, unless new impulses come next week that encourage an increase. The German price will remain at €1,55 per kilo this week. That is a minus of €0,15 per kilo, compared to 1 year earlier.
Stable prices
Most quotes remain stable over week 35. For example, Van Rooi keeps the price at €1,45 per kilo and Tönnies quotes €1,55 per kilo. Westfleisch follows suit with €1,53 per kilo. Only Compaxo has a minimum adjustment, which brings the price to €1,37 per kilo.
