Jansen and Douma leave POV immediately

17 October 2018 - Wouter Baan

Ingrid Jansen and Eric Douma, chairman and vice-chairman of the Producers Organization Pig Farming (POV), will resign with immediate effect. This means their departure is 1 month earlier than planned.

The above report various agricultural media† The reason for the split is division among the members of the POV. The 2 people in question could not be reached for comment.

Official statement
A spokesperson for the POV says that a board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 18. An official press statement will follow.

With the resignation of Jansen and Douma, full control will lie with the existing board members. The members then have a say in the next General Members' Meeting (GM), which is scheduled for November.

Second departure
It is not the first time that the two ministers have resigned. They also resigned their duties about 1,5 years ago, as a result of administrative dissatisfaction† Afterwards they returned.

The successors of Jansen and Douma will probably be announced during the GMM in November. The POV indicates that it is in talks with several candidates.
