Linda Janssen new chairman POV

27 November 2018 - Tim Roetman

The Pig Farming Producers Organization (POV) has unanimously presented Linda Janssen-Verriet as the new chairman of the organization. Wouter Oude Voshaar and Eric Stiphout also join the daily board, bringing it back to full strength.

According to the brand new chairman there is work to be done in terms of appreciation and trust. "I think the pig farmers are being put in an unfair position," she said. Janssen also hopes to be able to create more time for sustainability issues.

The annual plan of the POV has also been approved, without a vote against. In 2019, the POV will focus on strengthening the market position, the ammonia policy, odor and particulate matter, and a reliable manure policy will also be examined.

Response from Minister Schouten
Minister Carola Schouten (Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) has responded to the appointment of the new board. Through a video message, she makes it known that the future of the sector is important to her and she strives for social acceptance of the pig sector. Collaboration with the new board is of great importance in this regard.
