After a predominantly increasing trend that lasted almost 1 year, the price of fattening pig chunks shows a decrease again in February 2019. Not all lump prices follow this downward trend, because sow feed is becoming more expensive.
The price of sow pellets has increased by €0,10 to €26,50 per 100 kilos. The prices of sow pellet lakto and starter/transition pellet have both increased by €0,05 to €30,80 and €30,45 per 100 kilos respectively, according to the new figures from Wageningen Economic Research.
The quotation for pork chunks has fallen by €0,05 to €26,35 per 100 kilos. The last time the quotation showed a decrease was in October 2017. The piglet pellet price is stable at €37,60 per 100 kilos.
