It has been a few weeks since the pig price went up. Because piglet prices are steadily rising, fattening pig farmers are becoming increasingly impatient and resistance to higher piglet prices is increasing.

Higher piglet prices
The piglet market in Germany also continues to be characterized by scarcity. Fattening pig farmers still have to wait before the consignments are delivered. Dutch piglets are therefore drawn from Germany.

The North/West piglet price is €0,50 to €42,50 per piglet. It is expected that this increase will also be announced next week. The DCA BestPigletPrice increases by €0,50 to €44 per piglet. This marks the tenth increase in a row.

Stable pig prices
As expected, Vion's pig price will remain at €1,43 per kilo this week. The slaughterhouse talks about a normal supply of heavy meat pigs. On the meat market, bacon sales to the United Kingdom are running more smoothly, but on balance the meat company is still talking about different pricing.
