Despite the beautiful weather conditions, the sale of pork components is not increasing. Sales to Asia are also not going well. How does the DCA Scholarship 2.0 react to this?
Despite the fact that the distance with the Internet exchange had been extended to €0,12 per kilo, the German pig price (VEZG quotation) remained stable at €1,83 per kilo in the last week of June. The producer organizations therefore did not force a higher price. The Internet Exchange corrected on Friday June 28 and fell by €0,03 to €1,95 per kilo.
Slaughterhouses say that meat sales have not responded to the good weather conditions. This is because it is extremely hot in various parts of Europe; that often reduces appetite. Although the weather in the Netherlands will remain good next week, no tropical temperatures are predicted. This will reduce the growth retardation in fattening pigs, making shortages less likely to occur.
Smooth sales, but no shortages
Traders say they can place the pig supply well. However, there are no shortages. In addition, prices for European parts are under pressure. Exports to China have also slowed down in recent weeks. Compared to meat prices, pork prices are on the high side.
The DCA Exchange Price 2.0 recently posted a small increase, but this was not followed by the slaughterhouses. The listing can remain, according to the statements at DCA-Markets. The quotation for slaughtered pigs remains at €1,72 per kilo. The price of live pigs is unchanged at €1,39 per kilo.
