The momentum seems to have evaporated, now that the increase in the VEZG quotation has not been followed up by the large German slaughterhouses. Tönnies states that meat prices cannot keep up with the significant steps that pig prices have taken. In their opinion, there is too much euphoria about it sales opportunities in China

This far and no further
Pig prices seemed to be on their way to passing the €2 per kilo mark, but slaughterhouses are now indicating: this far and (for the time being) no further. This does not alter the fact that market conditions remain positive. The offer is mostly tight, although the pigs thrive at these temperatures.

Dutch slaughterhouses will have an easier time getting their hands on pigs next week, because there will be a Hauspreise on the plate in Germany for the fourth time this year. Die Hauspreise plays into the hands of meat purchasing parties. They therefore express considerably more resistance. Flattening meat prices are therefore in the offing.

Stable Stock Price
All in all, the market rhythm has been disrupted and the good flow has disappeared. The DCA Exchange Price 2.0 will therefore not receive a third increase in a row. The quotation for slaughtered pigs remains at €1,76 per kilo. The price of live pigs is unchanged at €1,42 per kilo.
