Stopper can cash in ammonia right

26 August 2019 - Wouter Baan - 6 comments

Due to the abolition of the Nitrogen Approach Program (PAS), ammonia rights will probably become tradable again. According to Farmconsult, stopping pig farmers would do well to convert these rights to another animal category.

Henk Radstaak, advisor at Farmconsult explains: "We will probably fall back on the old legislation now that the PAS is off the table. Parking was allowed and ammonia rights were tradable."

However, according to Radstaak, pig farmers (participating in the 2020 stopper scheme) run the risk that the ammonia rights will be withdrawn by the municipality in the new year. That is why these entrepreneurs would do well to transfer the ammonia rights to another animal category, for example beef cattle. One condition is that the stables are still intact.

Difficult to say size
The scale of the issue is difficult to say, according to Radstaak. All the more so because it is not exactly clear how many stoppers there are. Radstaak itself is counting on approximately 1.000 pig farms to stop. He cannot yet say what the rights are worth. According to the consultant, this probably depends on the location of the company. "The closer the location is to a Natura 2000 area, the higher the nitrogen deposition and thus the value of the rights."

The agricultural sector produces legitimate nitrogen thanks to ammonia rights. This could be interesting for other sectors development room to be. For example, for the construction and infrastructure sector. "Much is still unclear, but the potential benefits are too great to let this opportunity pass."

Stopper can silver ammonia
Is this statement correct?
In my opinion, the stopper will lose his ammonia rights as of 1-1-2020 if he does not make an adjustment.
So his license changes.
Or is this thought incorrect?
Adjusting with the PAS pronunciation also causes problems. How will one deal with this? Or what can the stopper do to keep or possibly secure his ammonia rights to make decisions in the future.

LTO is losing its raison d'être, they can better focus on the dissolution of the NL agrosector and ultimately themselves.
The book is out....first before the livestock industry, the rest will follow.

At the end of the 90s, 90 guilders/kg was paid for ammonia rights only by the livestock sector... now that could easily double because industry, government and housing have a lot of euros to spend to realize plans.... Moreover, skimming will even greater scarcity arises... animal rights, on the other hand, will become worthless and so we have received a new much stricter limitation ......... worthless if you want to grow a little more..... very nice if you want to stop ....

The ruling of the Council of State regarding the PAS is currently in favor of fewer homes being built in the near future, because mortgage interest rates will soon rise slowly and to ensure that the current financial system does not collapse (house prices) is so A building freeze is politically necessary to keep house prices up to par! The MOB is an extension of the political elite, they are right when it is in the elite street!!! The price for ammonia rights is not a problem for Schiphol and other multinationals, so don't sell stopping farmers too quickly!!
