The price of pork chunks has fallen by €0,50 over the past month to €24,15 per 100 kilos. From the compound feed price indicator van Boerenbusiness It also appears that the end of the price drop is not yet in sight, although some more stability is expected.

Wheat at relatively low level
On the European market, wheat (Matif in Paris) is trading at a relatively high level low level from €167 per ton (27 August 2019). Since the composition of pork chunks, among other things, largely consists of this raw material, the low chunk price will continue for now. In addition, there are currently more than enough feed raw materials available, which means that an increase in the price in the short term is not likely.

By the way, wheat prices have shown more stability in recent weeks, which is in line with the prognosis of the compound feed price indicator. This could mean that chunk prices will not take any major steps downward for the time being.
