Pali Group buys meat processor from Brabant

11 September 2019 - Wouter Baan

Wijnen Meat from Oss (North Brabant) has been taken over by the Pali Group, which wants to strengthen its position in the pork production chain.

Wijnen Meat, which was founded in 1978, processes pork and sells it on the worldwide market. The company sells about 600 tons on a weekly basis. The Pali Group in turn slaughters approximately 800.000 pigs on an annual basis. From 2020, both companies will continue under the name Pali Meat.

With the acquisition, Pali Group extends the production chain and, in its own words, creates a highly integrated structure. In this way, the Pali Group 'copies' the working method, as they also do in the veal sector (via subsidiary Vitelco).
