Data from interest group ISN shows that pig prices in the European Union have stabilized last week to persevere. This means that the pig price in the Netherlands remains stable at €1,723 per kilo and the German pig price maintains the level of €1,796 per kilo. The French pig price remains stable in week 41 at €1,903 per kilo. This means that the price is at this level for the fourth week.

The pig price in Belgium remains at €1,655 per kilo this week, which means the country is far behind the rest of the pig prices in the European Union. The difference with the Netherlands has now increased to around €0,60.

Spain and Denmark are mutating
The Spanish pig price has been declining for a few weeks now and that trend continues this week. The pig price drops by €0,009 to €1,912 per kilo, which means that the price is only €0,009 off the French pig price. If the price makes the same reduction next week, both prices will be at the same level.

The pig price Denmark also maintains last week's rate, which means that the pig price rises for the second week in a row. The price increases again by €0,027, bringing the pig price to €1,790 per kilo. This makes the price almost equal to the pig price in Germany.

Calm mood
The above shows that the mood on the pig market has been the same for a few weeks. There are more than enough pigs and sales to China are continuing excellently. The combination of those 2 factors ensures a stable market. The DCA Benchmark Price - Pigs remained stable last week at €1,76 per kilo for slaughtered pigs and at €1,42 per kilo for live pigs.
