Animal activists shut down supply at Tönnies

21 October 2019 - Wouter Baan - 7 comments

Animal activists have been blocking access to one of the slaughter locations of the German meat company Tönnies since Monday morning, October 21.

It is estimated that about 20 activists from the 'Tear Down Tönnies' action group have blocked the slaughter site in Kellinghusen (in the Schleswig-Holstein region). The group draws attention to animal welfare, the environment and the rights of workers in the slaughterhouse sector.

Slaughter activities have been discontinued as a result of the raid. The police are trying to lift the blockade. About 70 employees work at the slaughter location. Several thousand pigs are slaughtered every day.

I believe that we as farmers should just go along with the pigs for a while to guarantee the well-being of our pigs until the slaughterhouse

these activists are not only that but are ruining the whole society with that nonsensical wail . by the way someone who has a job does not have time to do this!!!!!!!!!!
so get rid of these rioters

If they didn't get anyone's attention, the party would be over. The press eagerly jumps on it . And then the counterparts show up again and then they have achieved their target and the attention has been refocused . And then just hope that farmers come to them and celebrate themselves so that they can show that they are good and the farmers bad . And the press will exaggerate it a bit . So ignore them as much as possible and certainly don't get involved with them. They are not worth getting in jail for or risking business over. As dear Jan already states, no job and therefore no money and therefore nothing to lose and nothing to gain.
