After price records have already been broken on the pig market, the same is happening on the piglet market. The DCA BestPigletPrice takes a mega step up this week.
The (export) demand for piglets is so high that surcharges are currently skyrocketing. Fattening pig farmers are now very concerned about having full stables and are continuing to bid heavily. Although piglet prices have already made great strides in recent weeks, the rate of increase is apparently too slow to prevent a proliferation of payments.
New record for BPP
That is why many traders at DCA-Markets opt for significant increases. The DCA BestPigletPrice therefore increases by €4,50 to €61 per piglet. This has more than destroyed the existing record from 2017.
German piglet prices are also rising rapidly. The VEZG quotation increases this week by €3 to €66 per piglet. The same trend report has been issued for the North/West piglet price, which is also likely to set a new price record next week. Prices are expected to continue to rise in the coming weeks.
