The province of Noord-Brabant is extending the stopper subsidy (the VABimpuls) by 2 years. In addition, the budget is considerably supplemented.
The so-called 'VABimpuls' is the pot that stopped (and quitting) livestock farmers in the southern province can tap into for advice on repurposing or demolishing empty stables. This arrangement was supposed to expire on December 10, but due to the great interest, the province has decided to stick to it for 2 years. The end date is now set at December 1, 2021.
One and a half million
In addition, the budget will be increased by €1,5 million, with €1 million being earmarked for farmers who want to stop. The rest goes to farmers who have since stopped. This financial injection is the second in a short time. Half september Brabant also decided to supplement the VAB pot with €400.000, after €250.000 had already been made available.
So far, almost 450 farmers have taken advantage of the scheme. In the coming years, thousands of Brabant farmers will probably stop.
