The contrast is great. On the one hand, there is a good demand for piglets and fattening pigs. On the other hand, there is a chance that, after Vion's location in Groenlo, other pig slaughterers in our country will also have to close their doors due to corona outbreaks. It will surprise few people that this is causing the necessary tension in the sector.

Plus for German listing
In Germany, the piglet price is cautiously rising again. The VEZG quotation increases by €1 to €55 per piglet. The German market is a lot friendlier than the previous weeks and that creates more export demand in our country.

Many traders believe that the Dutch piglet price has fallen too far in recent weeks. Now that pig prices are picking up, a (hefty) increase has been opted for for the DCA BestPigletPrice. Based on the statements, the quotation increases by €3 to €43 per piglet.
