These are still dark times on the pig market. Pigs that are ready for slaughter are not collected enough, which means that there is also less space to put piglets on. The DCA BestPigletPrice won't keep it dry this week either.
The ratio between supply and demand on the pig market has not been proportionate for weeks. Sales have fallen sharply and, as is known, there are many pigs hanging over the market. The entire European market is in disarray.
DCA BestPigletPrice
Last week the pressure on the market became too much and the DCA BestPigletPrice had to hand in €1,50. This week too, the quotation is not dry and the price drops by €0,50 to €21,50 per piglet. The German VEZG quotation, on the other hand, remains stable at a price of €27 per piglet.
Under normal circumstances, the DCA quotation rises around November and December, but this is not the case this year due to market conditions. The quotation is even 62% below last year's level and 48,5% below the 5-year average.
