There has hardly been any positive change in the situation on the pig market, sales are still extremely slow. This is also reflected in the export figures to Germany, which are considerably lower than average at this time of year.

In week 46, approximately 64.500 Dutch piglets crossed the German border, which is the lowest level since this year. Around the same time last year, more than 83.000 piglets went to Germany and in 2018 this number was even almost 90.000.

Total piglet exports
Despite the significantly lower exports to Germany, the total export figures remain at a relatively good level. This is partly due to higher exports to Spain. Last year about 16.500 piglets went to Spain and this year there are 33.500. Total exports amounted to more than 46 pieces in week 131.000, which is comparable to last year.

DCA BestPigletPrice
The DCA BestPigletPrice remains unchanged this week at €20 per piglet. The German VEZG quotation will also not decrease further this week and remains stable at €22 per piglet. Last week the listing took a significant step back and fell by as much as €5.
