The demand for piglets from abroad is declining, with Spain in particular making less of an impact. In week 16, exports to Germany were at a similar level to the previous week, but still lagged behind last year.
Exports to Spain in the week in question were considerably lower than in week 15, but exports there still remain ahead of the 2020 level. Total Dutch piglet exports fell to approximately 113.500 piglets and cannot therefore reach the levels of previous years. to match.
Domestic sales
Apart from exports, domestic sales are not bad given the market conditions. The DCA Stock Exchange Price 2.0 made a significant reduction 2 weeks ago, but that was last Friday slightly corrected. The range is on the wide side. Nevertheless, almost all piglets are still placed and it mainly concerns the loose flocks that are under some pressure.
For the current week, the DCA BestPigletPrice takes a small step back. The price drops by €0,50 to €48 per piglet. The difference with the German quotation becomes slightly greater, where the price remains stable at €49,50 per piglet.
