Dutch piglet exports have fallen sharply in recent weeks. Demand is now picking up again and exports are running a lot easier. What does this mean for this week's BestPigletPrice?
The RVO export figures confirm that piglet exports suddenly slowed down considerably. In week 14, total exports reached a low point, but since then export figures have been on the rise again. However, people are still not experiencing the levels of previous years.
The fact that export demand is picking up again is also confirmed by traders in the market. The bottom seems to have been reached and the market is gradually finding its way back up. Trade is easier and there is more demand again, especially from Germany.
