The Dutch piglet market is stabilizing. The sun still doesn't really want to break through yet. What is the basis for this?
The piglet market in the Netherlands is in balance. The traders who report their expected prices every week to determine the DCA BestPigletPrice (BPP) translate this into an unchanged input. On average, the piglets are placed properly and smoothly without too much effort. And then it concerns the Dutch market. The main cause would be the limited supply of piglets. There are no signals from the fattening pig market that justify a revival.
On the export market, the intake of piglets is less smooth and a sluggish market seems to be a good description of the market picture. A week ago, sales of large flocks, especially towards Spain, seemed to be trading more smoothly than this week. Collecting pairs were already more difficult to place then. This week the piglets are sold for an average of €1,50 less.
On balance, the BPP makes a sideways movement, which means a price level of €49,50.
