The situation on the pig market is still nothing to write home about. Still, there is a slightly optimistic mood. The pig price remained stable last week and the piglet price follows suit and does not set any further reduction.
Last Friday (August 13) the DCA Exchange Price 2.0 remained stable. A cautiously positive signal, although it is not the first time in recent weeks that it appeared that the bottom had been reached. The price drop was briefly stopped in both weeks 26 and 29, but continued later.
The DCA BestPigletPrice has generally fallen in the recent period and the negative trend has persisted since week 23. Only in week 31 did the price remain stable at 31, but then the surcharge reduced by 8%.
Bottom
This week the DCA BestPigletPrice remains stable and for the first time since the beginning of June there is no decline. The quotation remains €30 per piglet. Placing (especially free) piglets is still a difficult job, but there seems to be gradually more balance in the market.
The VEZG quotation also remains stable in Germany this week at €31 per piglet. Last week there was a significant decrease with a decrease of €5. The Danish piglet price continues its decline this week and the price drops by €2,10 to €32,90 per piglet.
