ForFarmers has started legal proceedings relating to the takeover of Vleuten-Steijn feeds in 2016. The animal feed group has reasonable suspicions that father and son Van der Steijn are not complying with the agreements that were made at the time.
A spokesperson says that ForFarmers had evidence attached for this last week. Without wishing to go into details, ForFarmers agrees that the allegations point in the direction of 'competitive activities' with regard to the sale of animal feed (or brokering in trade) that the Van der Steijn family allegedly started.
This is against the agreements made in 2016 regarding the takeover. ForFarmers talks about the legal case and awaits the developments. The Vleuten family is outside this process, the spokesperson emphasizes.
Vleuten-Steijn had a turnover of €2015 million in 91 and supplied about 295.000 tons of feed. The company mainly had larger propagators in the Netherlands and Germany as customers.
