At the beginning of February, Coöperatie Varkens KI Twenthe signed a cooperation agreement with Klasse from Son in Brabant and its Danish parent company DanBred. This makes semen from DanBred boars available to the customers of the Twente AI organization. Both companies report this in a press release.
In the initial phase, the breeding semen will come from boars that are at the AI station of Klasse in North Brabant. The semen is delivered through Varkens KI Twenthe. In the future, the collaboration can be further expanded with housing DanBred bears at the Twente AI station in Fleringen.
Parties satisfied
Pigs KI Twenthe is satisfied with the collaboration. "For more than fifty years, our cooperative has been supplying semen from the best breeding and terminal boars from various breeding organizations to our members in the Twente region. Our members want to use the best genetics, our cooperative ensures that these genetics are made available", explains manager Sanne Oudhof.
Klasse and DanBred are also delighted with the collaboration. John Nijhoff of DanBred Netherlands indicates that 'the Twente region has many professional pig farmers who produce about 8% of the Dutch pigs'.
Varkens KI Twente is an independently operating AI organization and supplies semen from several large breeding organizations such as Topigs Norsvin, PIC and Hypor.
