The pig market rally continues. After the German pig price (VEZG) already took a giant step up on Wednesday, the Internet exchange there today (March 11) is again very similar.
The gauge of the German market increases by €0,21 to €1,99 per kilo, with all ten offered lots being traded. A few weeks ago, the Internet exchange was only worth €1,20. The rate of increase is unprecedented and therefore almost impossible to keep up with for slaughterhouses in terms of meat sales. However, because the supply is so scarce, absurdly high prices are paid. At the auction today, the most expensive lot sold for € 2,03 per kilo.
The distance between the Internet exchange and the VEZG listing is usually about 5 to 7 cents. This week the VEZG has already increased by €0,25 to €1,75 per kilo, but the top has probably not yet been reached.
