The German pig price continues to rise. The Vereinigungsprijs for slaughter pigs was set at €0,08 per kilo higher on Wednesday. That is a strong departure from the stable price level in the nine weeks before.
The VEZG set the price at €1,93 per kilo slaughtered weight, which is equal to the Tönnies price and slightly below the price of Vion last week.
The increase comes as no surprise. On the internet exchange yesterday (Tuesday) the price was already increased by € 0,10 to € 2,00 per kilo. Moreover, it is clear that meat prices on the domestic market are going up in Germany. This happens with a decreasing number of slaughters.
Dutch slaughterhouses also seem to go along with the further increase in pig prices. Compaxo also reports a €0,04 higher kilo price.
