The German bank and feed cooperative Ems Vechte has invested heavily in modernizing the compound feed factory in Laar, Germany, close to the border at Slagharen. In their own words, this was necessary because of the rapid growth that the feed cooperative has achieved in the Dutch market in recent years.
Investments have not been made so much in extra production, but in the storage location of raw materials. The investment amount is approximately €10 million. The cooperative speaks of the largest investment in its history. A storage and transhipment hall of 6.000 cubic meters has been realized.
Ems Vechte has made in recent years name on the Dutch market. Out of nowhere, compound feed sales in our country rose to 140.000 tons, making the company a formidable competitor for feed companies, especially in the eastern part of the Netherlands.
In total, the company produces 760.000 tons annually. This volume will be increased by 150.000 tons through the merger in 2024 of Ems Vechte with the German VR Bank, which is also active in compound feed in addition to banking.
