German pig price gets a big hit

It appears that the pig market is under pressure.

This drop can be seen as a clear signal that the market is getting out of shape. The pressure is increased by the cancellation of a slaughter day. There are now more pigs available, because many German slaughterhouses are closed on Monday, October 3 (Day of German Unity). German slaughterhouses have been in the mood for weeks and now have the market on their side.

The pressure on the pig market stems from the pressure that meat sales are facing, as is also evident from the DCA prices of carcass parts earlier this week. Due to concerns about inflation and high freezing costs, meat sales are more sluggish than in recent weeks, according to insiders. The fall of the British pound is also not helping.
