The German pig price remains in place in the first week of November, as expected. The Dutch slaughterhouses do not tinker with the quotations either.
With the stable mutation, the German VEZG quotation remains at €1,90 per kilo. Historically speaking, this is still an excellent price, but in light of current cost prices it is also necessary. Compaxo's quotations remain stable at €1,68 per kilo. Vion kept the listing unchanged on Monday and the other parties will probably do the same.
Increasing slaughter numbers
The German slaughter figure shows an upward trend and rose to 785.136 pigs last week. Such high numbers have not been achieved since June (with the exception of week 39). This is in line with the picture that German slaughterhouses paint about the market. For a number of weeks they have been talking about an increasing offer.
There are no price driving or price depressing factors coming from the meat market this week. Parts prices remain largely in place, according to figures from DCA. The market is slowly but surely working towards the Christmas demand that should emerge in the coming weeks. It is still doubtful whether this will give the market a boost.
