The German pig price remains the same today, despite considerable price pressure from the large slaughterhouses. In the Netherlands, Compaxo is working on the listing.
With the stable change, the VEZG quotation for the third week remains the same at €1,90 per kilo. This was not obvious, because the German slaughterhouses have increased the pressure considerably in recent days. For example, at the end of last week, Vion came up with a Hauspreise that was €0,05 lower.
It is not yet known what market leader Tönnies will do. A spokesman for the company says that their listing will probably not be announced until early Thursday morning.
A wide offer
German slaughterhouses rely on a wide range and difficult meat sales. The increasing export to China in particular is increasingly affecting them. This sales market has been closed due to the outbreaks of African swine fever. The supply in Germany has been further expanded due to the cancellation of a slaughter day last Tuesday, November 1, because of 'All Saints' Day'. Last week there were a total of 674.019 pigs on the hook, more than 100.000 pigs less than the week before.
In the Netherlands, the Compaxo slaughterhouse raises the quotation by €0,01 to €1,69 per kilo. The increase can be seen as an upward correction, putting them more in line with other slaughterhouse quotes in our country that remain in place this week.
