The Dutch feed giant Nutreco has acquired the Danish feed company Mosegården. This is the second acquisition in Denmark in a relatively short period of time. Last year Nutreco also bought a feed company there.
With the purchase of Mosegården, Nutreco acquires a leading independent supplier of animal feed in Denmark, focusing on minerals and animal health products for pigs and cattle. The acquisition is also an important next step to strengthen its position in the Danish feed market, the company said. These activities take place under the banner of Trouw Nutrition.
Nutreco has been on a takeover path in any case lately. Last week, the feed company announced that it had acquired a minority stake in Roslin Technologies Limited, a Scottish player specializing in cellular farming for the production of cultured meat. Nutreco paid more than $12 million for this. It is not known what amount Nutreco has paid for Mosegården.
