Feed costs lead to new settlement of BPP

12 January 2023

The committee that supervises the preconditions linked to the DCA BestPigletPrice has adjusted the transfer prices in consultation with DCA Markets. These will be fully implemented from week 3 (15 January 2023).

DCA Markets has adjusted the transfer prices in consultation with the committee that supervises the preconditions under which the DCA BestPigletPrice is established on a weekly basis. This adjustment was deemed necessary now that feed prices have risen sharply in the past year. Below is an overview of how the settlement will be adjusted.

Weight surcharges and weight discounts:
25-30 kg : € 1,00 per kg (was € 0,80 per kg)
> 30 kg : € 0,60 per kg (was € 0,50 per kg)
20-25 kg : - € 1,00 per kg (was - € 0,80 per kg)
< 20 kg: - € 1,00 per kg (wash - € 0,80 per kg)

These transfer prices will take effect from week 3, January 15, 2023. The other costs and percentages remain unchanged. Click for a complete overview of all costs and percentages here. The order of settlement also remains unchanged. Since the establishment of the DCA BestPigletprice, this has been as follows:

1. First, the price of the basic piglet is determined
2. The percentages are then settled
3. After that, the costs and kilos will be settled
4. Finally, VAT is applied
