After a crazy ride to the top, there is now more peace in the pig market. The German pig price remains the same for the fourth week in a row.
The quotation remains at €2,28 per kilo, which is a record level. The slaughterhouse quotations in the Netherlands also remain as expected. The foundation under the price is solid due to a persistently tight supply. With 746.679 slaughters in Germany, the highest number since the end of 2022, there is an upward trend.
At the same time, with these numbers, a considerable part of the slaughter capacity remains unused. Meat prices will decrease slightly this week, but that can be seen as a correction to the strong price recovery we saw earlier.
