Theo Spierings has been forced to resign as CEO at ForFarmers due to health reasons. He is permanently succeeded by COO Pieter Wolleswinkel. After a series of changes, this seems to provide clarity at the top of the listed animal feed group.
At the end of last year, Spierings was appointed CEO of ForFarmers, he signed for one year. His arrival was big news, but turns out to be short-lived. There were already signals in the background that Spierings was out of the running and that indeed appears to be the case. The circumstances have not been disclosed. "We very much regret that Theo has been forced to step down from his position and wish him the best", said Jan van Nieuwenhuizen, chairman of the Supervisory Board.
Spierings' successor comes from his own ranks in the person of Pieter Wolleswinkel, currently still responsible for the activities in the Netherlands. He is appointed as the new CEO as of today. "With the appointment of Pieter as CEO, we guarantee continuity, knowledge and international experience in the board of directors," says Van Nieuwenhuizen. Before the arrival of Spierings, Wolleswinkel had been shared interim CEO for a few months.
In addition to the appointment of Wolleswinkel, Rob Kiers, strategy and acquisition director, will also be added to the board. With the arrival of Kiers, the board consists of three people again. CFO Roelof Tjebbes is also one of them.
