Piglet prices are moving sideways again this week. The market is in balance, it can be concluded.
Normally the supply increases seasonally at this time of year, but this is not yet clearly visible. Piglets are still scarce on the open market, so the seasonal price drop is not yet visible.
In the meantime, sales of piglets continue almost automatically, although fattening pig farmers in Europe are certainly protesting against the high prices. All in all, there is no reason to change piglet prices, traders believe. Based on the statements, the DCA BestPigletPrice moves sideways at €77 per piglet. The German VEZG quotation remains at €83.
